Commissioned by the Minister of War he studied the health service campaign during World War I, attending the medical conference in Budapest with a thesis on malaria. He belonged to numerous scientific societies.He took part in the Madero revolution and later on the side with Venustiano Carranza constitucinalistas entering the forces of Gen. Pablo González Garza.
